Three years after Daniel Schuster was said to be lost to ancient curse, Sheena discovers the curse continued, and she, along with Mendlesohn and Chris, scramble to save Matt Cutter before its too late.

Cutter's mother comes to visit carrying incriminating evidence of Cutter's feelings for Sheena, but is sidetracked by international criminals.

President N'Gama wants to put up an oil pipeline in the Mitubi region of the LaMistas, but soldiers scouting the region go missing. Cutter is indirectly hired by N'Gama's government to find out who or what caused the soldiers to go missing after helping Sheena and Chris help with relief efforts in the region.

Sheena and Chris disappear in an unknown part of the LaMistas. Sheena's boss, Dr. Okowendo hires Cutter to retrieve them, only to find the reality of a mythical beast and a violent cult leader.

At the time of the Kaia Leopard Festival, Cutter encounters a famed subject of a nature documentary and finds out he is out for the actual mythical legend, and recruits Sheena to him, much to her husband's chagrin.

Sheena travels through a time portal to retrieve Cutter from when he fell to. Sheena finds him in 1780 in the Caribbean with pirates. They go on one last journey and encounter a corrupt politician before heading back to their time.

Portals keep opening up in the LaMistas. Kaia artifacts are getting stolen left and right. Matt and Sheena investigate to find science abused for greed by a mercenary, and one of them will fall victim when a scientific experiment goes awry.

After discovering the former laboratory site of Dr. Mitchell Carter, Sheena and Dr. Robert Devine work hard on his time dilation project. Through experimentation ups and downs, Mendelsohn s the team helping them along. While Sheena deals with bad dreams and traumatic flashbacks, she makes a commitment to her new love before venturing into a portal to save Cutter.

A year has ed since Matt Cutter fell through a portal opened by Dr. Carter's time dilation accelerator. Mendelsohn is trying to keep Cutter Unlimited afloat after Matt's disappearance, which he faults Sheena for. Sheena, guilt-stricken, has moved to a new life in the Mitumba Mountains. Dr. Devine enters with a prospect that gives hope to possibly retrieving Cutter.

A king who has been asleep for centuries wakes up, and Sheena and Matt Cutter confront him, only to both be cursed.

N'Akili returns to the LaMistas with a plan to restore his home village and help other victims of its original demise, and asks Sheena and Matt Cutter to help him. Matt is hesitant, and Sheena picks up on it. In the meantime, Matt gets a new client that is surprisingly connected to the story.
