(Based off of the 2016 baseball drama "Pitch") Mike Lawson has been in the game for sixteen years. Fifteen of which he had a daughter. Mike knew how to get the ladies, he knew how to close deals, and most importantly he knew how to play baseball. Mike knew how to do a lot of things, however, being a father, was not one of them.

Mike & Ginny one shot post 1x10.

It's been five years since Mike retired from baseball. He hasn't talked to Ginny since leaving the Padres. Will a reunion at the Baseball Hall of Fame bring them together or will there be too much baggage left over from their final game for them to ever move past it.

A lot can happen in a season that spans 162 games. There are ups and downs, but it's all leading to one place. Takes place between the events of Next To You and You and I Tonight.

Sure, Ginny's career might have ended and Amelia's walked out, but at least Eliot gets a break. Maybe he can even put the band back together... Then he wakes up. [Yuletide 2017 treat for elegantstupidity.]

Mike gets a call that might just change everything

It was the off season. They were supposed to be relaxing, not attending a funeral.

Mike sees Ginny working with a young pitcher in Spring Training. He doesn't like it.

The trip from San Bernardino to Lake Elsinore was not that far in distance or in time; about forty miles, about fifty minutes, give or take a few due to traffic. The distance between either of those to where Ginny wanted to be right then felt like the distance between the Earth and the Moon. (Friendship between Ginny and Livan)

At the conclusion of Ginny's second season, she talks with Al about the future of the team

Mike finds Ginny in a closet, having a moment. Prompt: "Hey, hey, calm down. They can't hurt you anymore." "H-how long have you been standing there?" - "Long enough."

Set during ep 1. Mike catches Ginny in the practice room, pitching towards the mat. She tells him her story. Prompt: "Where am I going? Crazy. Wanna come?"

A little creative writing excercise. A concievable way in which Ginny. a pitcher, could get her first hit.

It's Mike's last game as catcher of the Padre's. After the game he finally gets to talk without being teammates.
