The story takes place in the early 25th Century in the Star Trek Online universe and centers around the formation of a unified task force of the Khitomer Alliance tasked with exploring a recently discovered wormhole located within a section of deep space.

A human placed in cryo sleep over the span of centuries was picked up by a federation starship in the far fringes of the Gamma Quadrant, before being attacked by invaders from an unknown galaxy. Upon attempting to chase after said invaders, the entire crew died as a result. All that's left to help Starfleet now, is a thawed out lab rat and a EMH hologram with all command codes.
