I've always felt there was clearly something between Hercule and Vera. This is my take on what might have been. (I've made them younger and may have adjusted parts of their backstories.)

Set a few years after "The Double Clue" ...

What if Hercule were younger (46)? And what if Vera Rossakoff (36) ed him on his adventure in Egypt? I will not rewrite the whole episode, but I'm using parts of Agatha Christie's Poirot (with Suchet), specifically Death on the Nile. The focus of this story is not on the case, but on the couple. ;-)

Poirot organizes an intimate evening for Miss Lemon, giving her a kitten after noticing her sadness at the loss of her former pet. What begins as a kind gesture turns into a night of silent discovery, where both are confronted with unexpected feelings.

Lt. Arthur Hastings just wants to get up to the military hospital in London and start putting the horrors of the trenches behind him. Matters are complicated when the train carrying him and other soldiers breaks down in a small village - where a spring fair happens to be taking place that day. But for a weary soldier, perhaps this stop is just what the doctor ordered...

A story of how Lt. Arthur Hastings sustained the war wounds (physical and otherwise) that sent him home from the battlefields of in 1917, and flung him headlong into the events of The Mysterious Affair at Styles.

Takes place during the Veiled Lady. Basically, Clover goes in Hastings' place and jumps through the window to escape. Aftermath of that scene.

It's been a complex investigation. But now the suspects have gathered, eager to find out who murdered Charles Mitchell and Paul Wilson, and why. Of course, Poirot has the answers, and has Hastings by his side, in case anything goes wrong...

Clover goes to Scotland Yard to deliver a letter. There, she forms an unlikely friendship with the Chief Inspector.

A young woman comes for a job interview, but she seems familiar. But why? *occurs before A Perfect Crime

What does Poirot do when there aren't any bodies around to worry about?

The diamonds have been recovered and the case is closed, so Poirot has the chance to explain.

Poirot, Hastings, and Japp discuss the perfect crime. Includes an OC (Hastings' niece, mainly serves as plot device).

Arthur Hastings wishes he could assist the great Belgian detective in his cases, wishes he were less of a fool. At the moment, he wishes more than anything for the pain of old wounds to disappear.

Poirot and Hastings compete to see who can unravel three unsolved cases. Each man can ask each three witnesses three questions before presenting their surmises to Chief Inspector Japp. Once the police have solved the case, the man who was nearest to the correct solution claims the point. The winner is the Best of Three. Will Poirot triumph or will Hastings take the lead?
