A little poem I wrote a long ago about the Gemma Doyle trilogy. It's old but I was surprisingly impressed with it when I found it.

She had no bow nor Gemma's magic and the help of their friends, only a candle to help bring a ghost home. [Post-Series, Fix-It Fic]

I enter a large clearing. Before me stands the Tree of All Souls. The last time I was here, I could hear the wind whispering my name through its branches, felt its leaves trail across my tear-stained cheeks. Now, the tree stands tall and silent and empty.

"Would you do anything for me?" I don't answer but she doesn't look at me at first. It's a painful moment in time when she does, with Sarah and I looking at one another in silent confidence. Her eyes were held by my green ones, and that thin misplaced piece of time ended just as it had started. She doesn't need my reply. We both know what the answer is, and the answer is yes.

"It struck Gemma how much she and her mother had haunted each other. Gemma, the power that would save the realms, and Mary, who would be the doorway into that world." Gemma dreams of Kartik, but also of something that has haunted her: her resemblance to her mother. Simple. Quick. R&R. Kartik/Gemma.

Hell seemed a lot more tame than Sarah had expected it to be. It wasn't the fire licking at her legs for all the sins she had committed, it was the frost trying to gnaw at her ankles, her boots stuck in the snow. **Spoilers**

Somehow, Miss Moore always thought that it was possible she would end up here. Not trapped in the waters beneath a cursed well, but trapped in her own regrets. **Spoilers**

She thinks that it might have started when she was three- the day she saw the troubadours for the first time and a beautiful woman with brown ringlets all piled up on her forehead leaned down and smiled at her.

What happened to Felicity before AGATB? The story follows Felicity through her childhood and most likely will also cover some of the books as well. I'm not sure how far I will take this, but please read anyway. Rated T for mature content.
