And then everyone went off to the Patternfall War and the big climax at the end of book five of the series... but what happened to Gérard during his regency? Did they just hand him the keys and say 'be good with our world? I think not. And maybe - just maybe - there's a lot more to the 'big guy' than he usually lets on...
