I am somewhat tough when I beta read, but I believe that it is for the writer's own good as well as the reader's. I believe that through correcting fanfiction, which millions of teenagers and young adults read (myself being one of them :D), we can also correct the spelling and grammar of the general reader and make for a better educated world!br /

When I beta read, I tend to scan the story in its entirety: detailed reading comes after I deal with all of the obvious flaws. When I am detail reading, I check for proper sentence structure, wording, and whether the sentences flow with the rest of the story. Sometimes, if the story is not viable for reading as is, I will alert the writer to revamp the story and come back with it after. I don't usually do that, but if the story needs to be changed drastically I would much rather prefer that the writer does it; after all, the writer knows what they want-even if they might need a little help!br /

If you would like me to beta your story you must write it as clearly as possible so that it's easier for me to discern what should and should not be changed. The beta-ing process will require that the writer stay in with me as much as possible for an optimal beta job: in other words, you will only get as much help as you dedicate to the beta-ing process. If you only give me your story and expect me to "fix it in a jiff," you won't get much in return-basic spelling and grammar checking /

I am good in of spelling and grammar. I am pretty good with word flow too since I write poetry (free verse mostly) in addition to stories and fanfiction. I can help writers find the right vibe for their work as well.

I tend to want to change a plot if it seems like it would not work for the story as a whole. I am not perfect, sometimes I will miss things, but I do try to be as thorough as possible. I can get a little bossy, but I think that it's for a good reason.

I'm a versatile beta-er: anything is fine, although I do tend to like my stories with a bit of smut, some romance, mystery, suspense, and generally anything out-of-the-ordinary. I'll beta pretty much anything though!br /

I like slash and het, but I get bored of reading het and after a certain point will not read het anymore. I'd say I can only take one to three het stories at a time as opposed to one to five slash. I can only take up to two stories-het, slash or a combination-at a time during the school year (for me, the school year is from September to early April.)br /

If the story is really good, I might be swayed to beta it even if I'm fully booked. ;D

Anything with child sexual abuse, child abuse, beastiality or animal cruelty. I also will not read and cannot stand stories with guro: malformed (i.e. performing sex acts on a decapitated head) sexual acts (go to wiki/Ero_guro for more info.)
