Moving the series out of the 80s and into the modern day, this take on the story features a Hibari that's even more vocal about her gender than before, among a host of other changes, some big and some small. It's written without assuming the reader is familiar with the source material, but worry not Hibari fans, this is no rehash: even from the beginning, things are different.
