There was once, long ago, a young woman named Holo. She would become the first of Earth's greatest heroes. But even the most brilliant lights will eventually flicker and fade.

Lawrence dreams of a grave, a grave with a crying Holo in front of it and his name etched in the stone. He wakes up with pain. The pain of his own mortality and how limited his time with her is. In an attempt to try and extend that time he goes back to Diana to see if she has yet another story for him to hear. Even if he gets his answer, is it possible? Will Holo want that to?

Being a huge fan of the Spice & Wolf franchise, I've read a few fanfics and have decided to try to write one myself. I haven't decided how long to make this, but it will certainly not be short. I've also not decided how risque I want to make this, but this first chapter will be an all-ages baseline to explain the setting in this alternate retelling.

This fanfiction takes place before Novel 5. Holo and Lawrence set out towards the north. However, during their journey they come across a small village called Kveir, known for selling fine wolf pelts and specialty weapons. With winter fast approaching, the two travelers decide to stay for a night, however little did they know this decision would end up almost tearing them apart.

After leaving Ponoka, Joshua and Yue are now headed for Ruvenheigen, where her nephew works as the branch manager of the Rowen Guild. There they embark on their next journey, though it is uncertain how long their partnership will last. Along the way, more of their past will be revealed, while in the present they encounter new political, financial and medical intrigues.

A seemingly inconspicuous action gives Holo the perfect opportunity to tease Lawrence. Being who she is, Holo couldn't let such opportunity go to waste.

Set after the light novels. The age of beasts and deities are long gone, but some still live, disguised in human form. 60 years had ed since Diva's gold coins were minted in Sovereign; 55 years since the hot-springs inn 'Spice & Wolf' opened in Nyohhira. In the wake of a new era comes a new journey, taken by the progeny of the Wisewolf and the olive-skinned companion she meets.
